The rugged Normandy coastline and the glowing City of Light, Paris, are the two contrasting parts this journey. Normandy offers the roaring rugged seacoast with fishing boats, Mt. Saint Michelle, and history with the Omaha Beach invasion of World War II. By contrast, the colorful lights and famous city of Paris has both modern delights and ancient history. Any travel option is available, from basking in the sun on St. Tropez's beaches to skiing the Alps.
Day 1
Land in Paris and motor to the Normandy coast.
Day 2
Walk on the Omaha Beach of Normandy and the quieting memorial.
Day 3
Visit the small cities and villages nearby.
Day 4
Return to Paris, "The City of Light," in the morning and relax at the George V Hotel and take in the Luxembourg Garden and afternoon tea.
Days 5
Musée d'Orsay in the morning, where one can admire the holdings. The afternoon could be a side trip to Versailles or the medieval gothic cathedral in Chartres with it's luminous blue glass windows and ancient labyrinth. Giverny, Claude Monet's home on the outskirts of Paris, is another option.
Day 6
Private tour of the city ending with a trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower for a spectacular view of the city. Afternoon choice of the museums and end the day with an evening Bateaux Mouches cruise on the Seine River.
Day 7
Shopping on the famous St. Honore or take in an open air market.
Day 8
Cooking Lesson with a French chef for the day, private or small group.
Day 9
Antique shop at les Puces de Paris with endless small shops that have the best of offer then end the day with music at the famous Opera.
Day 10
French hair cut maybe or treatment at the spa, afternoon tea at Landes. The last night ends with a carriage ride through the city.
Day 11
Fly out of Paris and return home.
